A blog to catch up! Rhode Island Newborn, Child and Family Photographer

Hello, hello!!!

Christmas is over, the New Year has come, and finally things are getting back in order.

Well… kind of, for us! We decided to add a pet to our family and picked up our little Shihpoo on January 2nd! So it’s still a little chaotic! I’m planning on a little puppy photo session soon ;). Stay tuned!

Miss Jules!!!

We’re New England Patriots Fans so we named her after Julian Edelman.

I haven’t blogged in a while, so I decided to pile some of my recent sessions in one. So here it is!

*Family

Weather in Rhode Island can be a little crazy! I mean, last weekend it was summer, today winter is back. Well, we took these photos in the fall right about when the leaves started changing colors. Temperatures were great, with very little bugs around! A few days later, there was a wind storm and the scenery looked a lot different! I love love love candid photos. Harrison is 2, and at that age we mostly get candid ones! And I think that’s great!

*Newborns

Look at this smily little thing! Born on Halloween! Two little ones both under the age of 2! Cheri, you’re an amazing mom! This baby did soooo well on her newborn session! Slept for almost every set up we did. And, we didn’t even use a pacifier :)

Another very smooth newborn session! I say that, because you never know how the baby will behave. Lots of times, there might be a tummy issue. Newborn sessions are booked during the first 3 weeks of life, and there’s a lot of adjusting and learning for both mom and baby during that time! Once you book your newborn session with me, I send you my prep guide, which I’m convinced helps a lot, as far as what to expect, and how to prepare your new baby and yourself!

One tip is to keep the baby unwrapped for a couple of hours before the session. That way the baby won’t fall into a deep sleep. Mostly likely he/she will save that sleep for me! It will be much easier then, to pose their little bodies and place their little hands where I want them to stay ;). That doesn’t mean we don’t want any awake shots! These are adorable as well as you see below!!!!!

Another tip is to give the baby a bath and moisturize his/her skin before the session. We want to maximize our chances of having a relaxed and content baby. Mallory below, was an “older” newborn at 7 weeks old but I think we captured her perfectly!

*Cousins!

These adorable cousins came to me for some Christmas pictures and some Baking ones for their grandparents’ bakery! Central Ave Bakery has some new art for their walls! I wasn’t sure I could make both sets happen the same day, since my space is so tiny, but it we did it, and I love the results!

*Birthday Session

And this princess is 3! Mom did a great job with her dresses and headbands! Charlie is still little so we made sure we scheduled her session at a time when she’s happy. AKA after nap time! I have 3 kids and I know first hand that you don’t want to mess with naps!

I think that’s all! If you like what you see contact me below! I’m booking into the end of February! Still have some openings for Valentine Minis though!
